Reflection on intensive and personal branding

The personal branding activity at the intensive was a powerful exercise for me because it really helps distill much of what I've been trying to put my finger on all last year during my job search. One of the key lessons learned for me in the cycle of rejection and persistence, is that being incredibly clear and authentic about who you are and what your skills are is incredibly valuable. For many months at the beginning I was vague and tried to show employers that I could do EVERYTHING. This is simply not necessary. Being clear about personal goals, working style, and even shortcomings is much more effective I think. The process of trying to "tag" myself and then receiving the tags from others really quickly sifted through most of the junk and got to who I think I am.

One of the observations that my partner and I made in debriefing the process was that we both wrote tags for ourselves that described what we do and our peers wrote tags that were adjectives for our personalities. Here are my tags:

Self-written:

play music
financial analysis
synthesis in leadership
market / financial solutions
energy solutions
social justice
white ally
pirate bassist
aspiring chef
Portland Trailblazers

Written by peers:

friendship listening
compassionate (2)
honey bear
smart
sage (as in wise one)
high performing
amazing project leader
musical creativity
strong
calm
easy going

I really enjoy the tags above and was a little taken aback by how nice to me people were. My question now is how do I take these and incorporate them into one cohesive personal brand in my social networks?
